Originally, ERP systems focused on automating back office functions. Since then it was coined dead many times and was reinvented again. But it obviously did undergo significant shifts and became a connected platform to interact inside and between enterprises.
As the industry is at the next inflection point with a digital transformed world and a strong demand for public cloud, it is time again to reinvent and redefine the Core ERP in the cloud.
Customer centricity and great customer touchpoints are on top of mind of all enterprises, but fulfilling the strategic requirements needs to become part of the operational excellence. Companies start to struggle to deliver on the new promise to their respective markets to deliver their products and services.
An SaaS Cloud ERP is surrounded by a complete enterprise value chain to run as an Intelligent Suite, no doubt, but there is a core that supports the managerial process (planning, execution and control) of enterprise resources to satisfy customer demand at optimal financial performance.
