Customer Incident

We received two questions about China tax-included purchasing price months ago, and we realized that these may be common problems in China.

Background

Actually, in China the sales tax is included in the price, while the price tag doesn’t show it. For example, the value added tax rate is 16%, which is applied to almost every product. And some products, like cigarettes, drinks, etc may have extra consumption tax. But they do not show on the price tag.

The difference between US and China is whether the tax is displayed on the price tag.

Real Purchasing Business activities

In real business, only total price is discussed and net value and tax are split until invoice phase.

Comments

Option 1

The buyer manually calculates and splits the net price

Ø  No additional configuration required

Ø  User experience is not good, The buyer needs to make calculations each time manually.

Ø  There will be small differences that need to be confirmed with the finance department.

Option 2

Implementing Price Unit

Ø  No additional configuration required

Ø  User experience is not good. The buyer needs to enlarge the price by 100 times each time.

Ø  The net price is not the real net price, SAP Standard reports cannot display real net prices.

Option 3

Implementing Customizing Condition type

Ø  For real business use case, it can be implemented in the system

Ø  Customers can configure it by themselves

Ø  There will be small differences that need to be confirmed with the finance department.

We recommend using this solution

Additional Configuration steps

Ø  Create a new Condition Type of Negative value

Ø  Create a new custom logic for pricing

Ø  Create a new Routine

Ø  Copy a new Pricing Procedure and insert the new condition type to Procedure

总价=1390

净价=1311.32

税率=6%
