Extracting Large Data Sets from S/4HC

We've been live in Production in S/4 for about 1.5 years now and have yet to figure out what the best way to extract large data sets without either the browser or S/4 timing out. As an example we have GL line items that total 2 million line items a quarter. S/4 and/or the browser (we use Chrome) time out when we try and extract more than 100-125,000 at a time. At least a few times a year we get requests for data extracts from our auditors where they want a single file extracted that has the data they want: not 20 separate extracts and they view it as audit element failure when we can't provide it. I'm aware that excel itself has row limitations of around 1 million lines so the potential of using the oData connection still would cause us issues.

How are other S/4HC customers addressing this? How is SAP planning on addressing this moving forward as more and more customers move into S/4?

I've got an improvement request out there on this gap (https://influence.sap.com/sap/ino/#/idea/218215/?section=sectionDetails), but I'd love to hear if there is something on the horizon or some tool that's been developed that we don't use/were unaware of.

Thanks!

Ryan
