Is there still the ability to allow MTO assembly components to reserve unrestricted stock that is not assigned to the customer?

HI,

I am familiarising myself with the MTO process within S4HC.  When a Finished Good is assigned to an MTO sales order all underlying components of the FG are associated with the sales order and hence only sales order/customer specific inventory is available to produce the FG.  The on premise ECC environment provided the ability to allow components to reserve unrestricted stock, that was not customer specific, through the use of the individual/collective setting within MRP4 of the material master.  As this is not available in the product master would anyone be aware of an alternative approach in S4HC?

Regards

Christian

Hi Christian,

Can you double check the MRP 4 view? For the MTO script BJE, raw material RM16 is flagged to be planned collectively.

Hi Christian,

Yes you are correct with the replacement of the gui apps being the ultimate goal as S4HC continues to be refined with each release, but there are still several gui applications (often labled "advanced/professional" etc..) that give the users a wider range of functionality that may not be integrated in the fiori applications at the moment.

If you take a look at master data script BNR for creation of raw materials, the process still directs the users through the use of the "create material" app which brings you to the gui material master as you noted, so at least for the time being, this is the best procedure.

Hope this helps,

Devin

Hi Devin,

Yes, I could go through the traditional material master GUI transaction to populate this field, but I would like to know why it is not available when I go through the product master app as I would expect this to be the preferred method going forward to access the master data, ultimately the GUI for HTML transaction being removed.
