is it possible to schedule batch jobs ( such as PIR release ) with a dynamic date field ? in ECC we could schedule ( for instance ) the roll period program RMMMPERI with a date of ‘today’ which would dynamically set the field to the date of execution.
Does anyone know how/if this exists in S4HC ?

Hi Irene
There is an app "Schedule Job for Closing Periods" under catalog Master Data Administration that can be used to schedule period close jobs. There is an option to schedule them daily.
Additionally, there is an application jobs app that can also be set to run daily. https://help.sap.com/viewer/f544846954f24b9183eddadcc41bdc3b/1808.500/en-US/37e7a011a524405882af49cc...
Do either of these help?
Thanks,
Marty

Hi Marty
we are OK to schedule jobs - but what we are looking for is the ability to have dynamic fields e.g. in the app 'Schedule inbound delivery creation' - there is a 'delivery date to'. We want to schedule the job so that this date is dynamic based on a rule e.g. today minus 4 days. ( In old ECC, this was a dynamic variant ).
Is this possible please ? if not, how would scheduling these jobs be effective if the date is 'stuck' when it is scheduled ?
regards
Irene

For anyone presented with the same question - this would apply to any scheduled job which needs a dynamic field e.g. delivery due list ( inbound and outbound ). Here is the formal reply from OSS. Until this is addressed, then 'schedule' means 'submit manually for a fixed date/time only'. It can't be set to run repetitively e.g. each day
"This is not an error but what you are asking for is a new feature. Please see attached KBA 2729277:
2729277 - App "Schedule delivery creation" does not accept the option 'today' in the Delivery Creation Date
"No such feature is currently planned for CE1905, we might add this with one of the next S/4HANA Cloud Shipments, depending on the number and priority of incoming feature requests for such a functionality."

Hi Mark
thanks for the reply - I can see how to schedule periodically, but it means the selection fields are static.
On the closing period app, there is the option of choosing 'current date' but for other jobs -this does not exist.
For example : PIR Reorganization has a mandatory 'key date'. If I schedule this to run weekly, how can I get this key date to move in line with the schedule ? e.g. I want it to always be today - 14 days.

Hi Irene,
Also the "Schedule MRP Runs" app for planning purchase requisitions, produciton orders etc. based on PIRs allows you to define a recurrence pattern. If you open the app and click the "+" icon to create a new job then select "define recurrence pattern," you should get quite a bit of flexibility for scheduling.
