I am looking into he Alternative Based Confirmation functionality. SAP help link (https://help.sap.com/viewer/32da8359c8ee4e8b8e8c5e15cacba5aa/1905.500/en-US/e6005291ec154aad8e3ae1aa...SAP . From what I am seeing and what I have been able to play around with it looks like manual intervention is required in order to accept the Alternative Proposal. Where this is a problem is that the orders that are being created are coming in via an interface and there will not be able manual intervention at the ATP checking point. Does anyone know of a way where the ABC rules can be applied automatically and have the updates happen during the Order Create API process.
the Alternative-Based Confirmation (ABC) is executed when an SD standard order is entered and a substitution strategy can be determined via defined alternative control.
To define an alternative control the app Configure Alternative Control can be used. To defined a substitution strategy the app Configure Substitution Strategy can be used. Based on the selected substitution method and source within a substitution strategy the possible substitutes are determined. This can be plant, storage location or product, (or more than one) depending on the setup. Once set up the ABC determines the best alternative and confirms the requirement accordingly.
