Hello,
When using the new app 'manage billing documents' you can cancel a billing document itself. When you do so, a pop-up is shown to confirm the cancellation, but the date cannot be set. The system by default sets the billing date as the date of the original document.
We are aware that we can use the app 'VF01', but we are not sure if there might be a configuration or a way to set the date using the new app 'manage billing documents'.

'Manage Billing Documents' app is currently not supported to set a cancellation/billing date as required. As you mentioned already, it automatically takes the original billing date as cancellation date by default (SAP Best Practice). There is no specific configuration to change this. The only alternative is to cancel the invoices via VF01 app if required.
