If you're already an S/4HANA Cloud company and/or part of the SAP ecosystem there are certainly advantages to SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC). Real time integration for reporting from S/4HANA Cloud, SuccessFactors, and other areas being chief among them. We're a 100% SaaS shop that is considering SAC and SAC planning in particular for our budgeting and planning because of the connections being built. We'd still need to plug in the non-SAP source data from a data warehouse to SAC, but those are the only connections we'd have to build. SAC also has open source reporting from what I've heard.

This is in comparison to a hybrid solution where you're porting stuff to your EDW from various sources and then placing an analytics, dashboard, planning tool grabbing from that EDW. Comparatively speaking we'd have Azure or Snowflake as our EDW, and then tools like PowerBI or Tableau for the analytics reporting/dashboard and Anaplan or Adaptive Insights as the planning tool.

Seeing a number using SAP Analytics Cloud and the pre-built simple integration with S4HC to derive greater use of embedded analytics within the actual business process scenario itself.
