Deleting G/L accounts: tidying up behind the automated test tool

I recently noticed that one of the outputs of some of the automated test scripts is the creation of new G/L accounts (specifically in the 12562* range).  Having been through a number of release upgrades now, the Q system is getting positively littered with these - we have 31 (!) on a system that went live on 1802.

I know from previous discussion with SAP that there is no option to delete accounts in S4HC - I think based on what the testing tool is doing, we need a utility to tidy up this data fairly urgently!

Anyone else noticed similar or got a view?

Hi Clare,

I have not heard of this before. Correct, that SAP does not allow you to delete accounts in S4HC, but there might be an alternative solution - did you try creating a ticket to see if there is an alternative from ops?

Best,

Riwa

Hi Clare,

I agree that with a 2 client system for S/4HC there needs to be a way for us to clean up our master data elements like GL accounts, bank accounts, profit/cost centers, and even company codes, etc in the Quality system. While we can mark items for deletion which is consistent with behavior I've seen in ECC, we don't have the ability to copy back a production environment to Q or have a pure config client. I'd love to have more control here as well after living with the system and being thru several releases in the last year and a half.

Totally with you there Ryan!

The copy back from P to Q would be so useful - and would make supporting a live system / investigating issues (which let's face it are often data related) so much easier.
