Print Queue Retention Period

I've noticed that print queues I've set up in the system don't reset after the 1-day retention period. Does anyone know why? Is there some sort of queue size threshold the queue must hit in order to activate the reset?

In my screenshot below. The "Default" queue has been active since the beginning of this project and has yet to reset. At what point will this queue refresh and delete the documents? Or do I have to manually do this?

Any insight is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Hi Mark,

Please note there is always a Print Queue by name DEFAULT which customer cannot change/delete/pause, it can never print to Cloud Print manager. The purpose of DEFAULT queue is for sending any output that does not have queue defined. Also please note that the Print Queues do not belong to a specific business user but a "Technical" User.

In the screenshot attached by you, status is showing as "new". This means output is generated & saved in PDF(Default) format. It's not printed. It is only the process which is used to display the documents before they get printed. Once a spool request is generated in the system, It can be printed to any printer with n number of copies, at any time. Where as normal printing, the document will not be available once it is printed.

Could you please let me know if you are using "Cloud Print Manager" for printing or just saved the output locally & then taking the prints? If you want to know more about "Cloud Print Manager", please check scope item document "1LQ".

Shirish,

Thanks for the input. We are using the SAP Cloud Print Manager to print documents.

So the Default queue never resets, but the queues that I created will follow the defined retention period?

Hi Mark,

Ideally it should be! 🙂 If it is not, best way is to open incident with SAP to know the root-cause.
