Activation of ODATA in S4HANA cloud

Team,

We are exploring POC wherein we have been asked to create analytical Apps in S/4HANA cloud. We are using KPI browser apps (i.e Create KPI, KPI workspace and evaluation, )  to create the same.

While creating KPI using Create KPI app, we have to define CDS view as (data source). We could view few CDS view in data source. Mentioned below view cant be seen in CDS view option.

Eg. C_STOCKQUANTITYCURRENTVALUE
C_MATERIALSTOCKTIMESERIES
C_MATERIALSTOCKBYKEYDATE

And as per what we understand we can only view only those CDS views , for which ODAATA is enabled by SAP. Hence we request team/SAP to enable ODATA so that we can build  analytical apps.

Hi Jyoti,

Thank you for your query!

I just tried to recreate the scenario upon your requirement and I realize, the best approach in such scenario will be to leverage Custom Analytical Queries which in turn can be used in creating and evaluating KPI’s instead taking the approach to use Custom CDS view and moreover we might encounter errors while Creating KPI or Report from custom CDS view.

Please see the SAP Note: https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/2687180

Also, in contrary to what is described in your question, we can in fact enable OData Services for all the released/whitelisted CDS views including the ones mentioned above and that is by creating Custom CDS View from the data source.

But, I realize, while creating KPI, the best approach will be to use Custom Analytical Query. So, I created one taking the example of the data source- C_MATERIALSTOCKTIMESERIES and named it YY1_MATERIAL_STOCK_TEST.

Now this Custom Query can be consumed and called in your creation for KPI and Evaluation.(attached in my screenshot)

This should be equally applicable for your other query as well. Some additional documentation about creating KPI's below:

Hope this helps!

Thank you!
