AR Aging List

What do people use for a detailed AR Aging?  The AR Aging Analysis does not provide anything other than the top 10 Customers.

Thanks,

Jeff

Hello Jeff,

This point was also recently brought up in the forum for Professional Services. In addition to Anirban's comments please find a copy of the thread.

Aging reports (customer) and or (supplier) provide essential information used in financial management and control.

The out-of-the box smart business apps are generic and in case your needs are not fully addressed then the capabilities of embedded analytics may be leveraged to develop a custom report.

For starters, I recommend considering the following CDS views if you have not done so already:

1. I_APFlexibleAging (the underlying data source for the out-of-the-box report has been provided).

2. I_ARJrnlEntrItmAgingGrid (further tailored released CDS view for AR open items aging report)

In case the above released views do not fully address your need then you may build your own aging report using a stacked view approach on the accounting document cube. Based on customer experience, one example for which a custom report may be needed is if the key-business user needs to view the aging information based on document date vis-à-vis the date based on payment terms. To illustrate this use-case and the stacked view approach please find the attached document.

Lastly, the aging report has been a popular request with 8 votes on the customer influence portal!

Hope this is helpful,

Thank you,

Feras

Will ' Custom Aging Reports.pptx' work with public cloud also?

Agree with comments about using the 'Manage Customer Line Items' app for a detailed view.

I guess it's also worth giving consideration to the question as to how relevant a complete ageing analysis for all customers is in the 21st Century. Are you just trying to replicate a historical report rather than questioning the value that the data is adding?

(just playing devil's advocate here...)

Hi Jeff,

The reporting on the AP Aging has a similar limitation. We've found that you can bring in the aging of the line items in the Manage Customer Line Items or Manage Supplier Line Items report (the Days in Arrears field). From there you can extract to excel and slice and dice however you want. The alternative to that is a custom analytical query like Feras talks about below.

Hope that helps,

Ryan

Hi Jeff,

The AR Aging analysis app allows you to display the analysis by due period ( you can define upto 3 Net due intervals on your own) , Company code , Accounting Clerk and Top 10 customers. The options other than top 10 customers take all the outstanding receivables into consideration as per filter criteria set.

Regards,

Anirban
