How to set material number is 11 digits

We want to set when user create the new material number, the number digits must be 11 digits.

There is a configuration Define Output Format of Material Numbers 102320.

Thank you for your answer,

for 102320, only can set the maximum lengh ,and if less than 11 digits, will have leading zero to full fill the digits.

but we don't want to have leading zero ,and if not 11 digits, then error message.

Do you have some suggestions?

Hi Joanna,

It depends on how you set the number range intervals in Define Number Ranges for Each Material Type (102282) in sync with the Define Output Format of Material Numbers (102320).

E.g. you can consider a number range of 20000000001 - 29999999999.

Then you have to assign the number range to the product type (Configure Product Types 100306)

Alternatively you can look at the development of Custom Logic (Extensibility - Custom Fields and Logic)

Business Context Master Data: Product General or Master Data: Product Valuation - select the BAdI and read the documentation. You can delete the object (if it is not activated yet).
