Can we assign Item Categories to document type?

Where can we diplay or specify which item categories the system proposes for each sales document type and item category group?

Hi Ingrid,

There is currently no SSCUI available to determine which item category is selected against a sales document type.

The Item Category Group can be assigned to the material from within the Material Master.

Hi Ingrid,

Item category proposal for each sales document type is based on a configuration table. In public cloud environment, the access to these configuration tables is restricted. However, it would be possible to view all the possible item categories for each item in a sales order. This will allow to manually select an alternate item category if required.

quick answer is no, easiest is to get into the back end system. Of course you could enter every order type and every material type to and to a drop down on the item category........get back end access.

You can access backends via CAM process. It's a pain for sure.

sadly with S4HC, it is not possible to have access to the backend. However, if you need to know which item categories are assigned to which sales order, it may be worth asking OSS for a screen shot of the backend, and look to an on-prem version.
