Hello,
Does anyone know how to manage Budget control on WBS element in purchase order?
For example, I have planned amount on my WBS element (Planning category = PLN) and I want a warning/blocking message when creating a PO if this amount is exceeded
Thanks a lot
Mathieu
Hi Mathieu,
Did you try configuring the tolerance limit in Configure your Solution ---> Budget Management? Here you are able to configure a percentage and flag a warning message to be set. To my knowledge you can set the warning message to an account group.

Hi Mathieu,
One more note in regards to your comment above - when uploading the "plan" data using the app Import Financial Plan data, the category on the template should be BUDGET01, in order to run the Project Budget Report. If the category is not entered as BUDGET01, no data will come up on the Project Budget Report. Only plan data will appear on the Plan/Actual report.

Have you maintained a budget availability profile etc in config?
How have you entered the data against the project - there is a distinction between plan (which you cannot control spend against) and budget (where you can).
If you can supply a bit more detail, that will help to clarify what you need to do.

Hello Clare, and thank's for your answer
I tried to follow steps describe in the file "Enterprise Portfolio and Project Management " for the release 1808 (sreenshot in attachement)
Yes i have maintained budget availability profil in config, but what i understand from your answer is even if i use Planning Category BUDGET01, i won't have any alert in purchasing process ?
So how can we manage Budget process regarding a Project (WBS element), and have a warning when someone exceeds this budget on a purchasing order?
Thank's a lot
