S/4HANA Cloud Extensibility: New Field in engagement project business context

Hi,

We've added some new fields at customer project level. We used the 'Custom fields and logic' APP to create a new field in the 'Engagement project' Business Context.

Once the field is created we enabled it for every UI and Report available.

If we check the 'engagement project' CDS View we can see the new field YY_newfield, but this new field is not available for standard project reports.

On the next video, it is shown how to add a new field at Asset master data level, and this field is automatically available in standard reports: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R1CEmvyr5lk

Should this be an error? Or is it because we should perform another step?

Thank you in advance.

Kind Regards,

Anna

No additional steps required. The new fields are also added to the I_ENGAGEMENTPROJECT view which is available for custom reporting. In my opinion there are no standard reports based on the engagement projects but only UIs. In most reports about projects the engagement project master is not the primary data source.

In customs CDS and query you need to add the new fields to the selected fields in order to get them in your reports.

Jeroen

Hi Jeroen,

Thank you for your answer.

We still don't get how to include the new field in standard reports. We have been checking the reports we needed to extend, such as Project - Plan/Actual, and we see that the CDS view that is used as a source is I_ActualPlanJrnlEntryItemCube. This CDS view cannot be extended, so, should we create a new CDS view using I_ENGAGEMENTPROJECT as a second source to include our new field and then create a new query using the new CDS view?

Thanks again for your guidance.

Kind Regards,

Anna

Hello,

I'm sorry for not answering before. For this issue we created custom queries. I'd have to check to see if these fields are shown in standard reports. I'll do so and let you know.

thanks.

Anna

Hi anarodriguez ,

Have you solved this case with using standard reports or do we have to do custom reports?

Thank you
