How can we define fields as mandatory?

Hi,

We are trying to set up some configuration related to the fields for some master data and processes. 

For example, we have the following requirements:

• At Business partner level: Set VAT number as mandatory
• Sales order: Set WBS element as mandatory.
• Purchase order: Set Plant and Storage Location as mandatory

We have checked the configuration step 500104 to configure Incompleteness Procedures for Sales Area. But, we could not find any other step to configure field selections for specific processes or master data in S/4HANA Cloud. Should this configuration be performed using extensibility? Has anyone performed this configuration?

you could look into the 'custom logic' both the sales and procurement document have a 'Check before save' badi. I didnt see one for business partner but there is one for both customer and supplier.

We didn't use it untill now so looking forward to your results on this.

Thank you for your help.

We saw the BADI SD_SLS_CHECK_BEFORE_SAVE, but we were wondering if this might be our only option.

We'll try using it, and we'll check to see if there is an option for business partner master data.
