Reporting of Financials - Consolidated

Hi Friends,

We have a scenario wherein there are 6 company codes and management wants to see the consolidated financial statements at group level (all 6 company codes).

1. We have seen a scope item "Group Reporting - Financial Consolidation (‏1SG‏)"  in the Best practice explorer. Do we need to activate it? (is it mandatory?)

2. Without activating the above scope item, can we derive the consolidated reports by using the field "Group Chart of Accounts" wherein we will create another set of COA at group level and assign those GLs to the Operational COA  master data..?

Inputs on the 2nd point would be of great help.

Thanks & Regards,

Hello all, according to the 3AF we have to adapt the sandard CaA with a Group CoA... the question is: how, when and where we create/upload/see the Group Chart of Accounts? Does anybody know this?

Yes - would it be possible to share an .xls version of the YGR1 CoA - there seem to be plenty of downloads of YCOA available - but I haven't been able to find one for YGR1

Milcho, this is a separate question, and would get more attention if posted as such, instead of adding it as a comment in an existing thread.

As of 1902 we released an app for GL account mappings, which will work for the operating chart of account as well as the Group chart of accounts ; Please have a look at the Roadmap explorer under Accelerators you will find a powerpoint for the Chart of Accounts configuration , which describes the new tool and there is a FAQ document GL Accounts renumbering available as well. If your system was provisioned pre 1811, please open a support ticket, to ensure you can use the app

That depends on whether you need eliminations and currency translation. If so, you need to activate the scope item.

Hi Franz,

Thanks for the reply.

So, i had the requirement of consolidating my financials at group level, "1SG" is the only scope item that i have to activate in my system?

or

are there any other additional scope items that i have to activate?

In the roadmap explorer is an accelerator showing available scope items and their dependencies:

https://support.sap.com/content/dam/SAAP/Sol_Pack/Library/General/S4CLD1902_Availability_Dependencie...

Depending on whether you want to plan on consolidated level or integrate with other systems you may need other scope items.

Hi Satya,

They are actually almost exclusive to each other. If you need to prepare your S/4HC system to be consolidated OUTSIDE of S/4HC then you will need 3AF and not 1SG.

If you consolidate company codes / segments etc. in S/4HANA Cloud (S/4HC) then you only need to request 1SG. The BEst Practices Explorer provides more info for each scope item as well.

Dear Mr. Plath,

Thanks for the Info.

We have already gone through this document. But my exact query is,

there are two items "1SG" and "3AF". Do i need to adapt both for consolidation? i couldn't understand the difference between those two.

Jeff Franz - hope all is well. Adding to this conversation: If we translate and eliminate using 1SG, can you run the statements and drill down to the underlying detail? Should be standard functionality correct?

Hi Roland,

If we are using 1SG, can we have data from more than 1 source - I mean S4HC + from external sources?

Nitin

JohnG: That depends: If the underlying data is in the same Universal Journal, then it is possible. Or with other words, if the Company Codes that are being consolidated are all on S/4HC , then you can drill down to more detail.

nfatnani Yes, this is possible. There are various options available. one is upload from file, which should work with scope item 1SG ; if you need more advanced options please review scope items 287 and 2U6
