Deactivate Profitability Analysis

Former Member

Hi,

We Activated Scope Item "Profitability and Cost Analysis" (J55). This Scope item contains the Profitability Analysis topic that is out of Scope in Our Project.

When we post a Customer invoice, we don't want the system asks us to fill the segment as mandatory.

Below the error message detail:

How can we deactivate it?

Thanks,

Sofia

Hi Sofia,

Profitability Analysis if by default activated in S4 Hana cloud and cannot be deactivated. Hence , system will need to derive profitability segment for revenue cost element postings. Through SSCUI 102639 you may maintain the revenue cost elements (cost element category 11) and activate the "profitability segment' checkbox against each of them . Then you can post to these revenue accounts just by entering Profit center as cost object and you will not be required to enter any profitability segment characteristic manually.

Regards,

Anirban

Echo Anirban's response.

You will get that error unless you enter what SAP recognises as a CO assignment (ie more that just a profit centre) whether you activate J55 or not.

The workround that Anirban suggests is an effective way of getting around the issue - there are quite a few previous discussions on this topic
