KPI Tile for Custom Analytical Query

Hi;

We have created a Custom Analytical Query, and then a KPI referencing the query. Now when configuring the KPI tile, we can also configure a drill down. Ideally we want the tile to open Custom Analytical Query, is this possible?

Hi Thomas,

If I understood your question right, in your use case, you created and published a KPI Tile out of a specific data source and when you open this tile you see the information based on the evaluation you have set, however, what you want is a tile that opens to a custom Analytical query instead of displaying the KPI tile with the input parameters you have set.

So here is it, these are two different application although you might reference to same data source for analyzing your data and hence if you want to create a tile out of custom Analytical Query, here are the steps to be followed:

1. Go to view browser and search for the query report you created.

2. Upon selecting your report, you have the option to create application. This means the report you created can be brought in as an app itself.

3. Once you create application, you should be able to assign catalog for accessing the app.

Hi Thomas,

As mentioned before, you cannot reference the KPI tile to launch the Custom Analytical Query, as they both are distinctly two different application although both might reference to same data source.

Just to put couple of inputs on 'configure drill-down' option.

Select the KPI from the ‘KPI workspace’ app-- > Select the ‘evaluation’ you wish to configure further

Make sure you have the required input parameters in place. If you need to configure further based on the input parameter selected, then click ‘configure ‘Drill-Down’ option

You will be able to see all the views created under the evaluation and you could add views based upon your requirements by clicking the ‘configure’ and ‘+’ add views.

Kindly note that ‘Configure Drill-Down’ options are depended on the input parameters and the data source selected. If you observe any technical issues after following the steps above, I would recommend raising an incident with SAP to investigate this further in your customer specific tenant.

Hi Amith;

Thanks for your reply. I am aware of how to create an application for a Custom Analytical Query. However what we like to see is using a KPI tile which then launches the custom analytical query to allow the user the full flexibility of the query. The drill down as part of the KPI is limiting and is currently not working for us anyway (but this is a different issue).
