Differentiate between "display and maintenance" mode in Custom Business Objects (CBO's)

Hello everyone,

We have create several CBO's and have tiles to maintain them. They are assigned to the corresponding Catalog, and business roles. Our doubt is if there is a way to differenciate between displaying the CBO and maintaining it.

We will need some users to be able to update data on the CBO and others just to display that data, but we don't if it is possible. 

We are working on S/4 Hana Cloud.

Have you thought about creating a separate query tile based on CDS-view for the custom object? You can put that in another catalog to make the distinction between maintain and display.

Unfortunately, we cannot set rules for certain set of users to modify the data and other set of users to have ‘read-only’ data upon creation of a tile based out of CBO’s.

However, the best solution will be to go to ‘View Browser’ app and search for the CBO you have created, and you should be able to see an option that says, ‘Show Content. Please note that for the CBO’s to show the content, the View Browser should be published and activated(released).

Hence, for users to view the content it will be the ‘View Browser’ and for users (in this case key users) to modify the content/data, they have to go to the tile itself (make sure the users who has access to tile should have necessary roles to access from rest of the users)
