Hi Experts,
I am working with Sales Scheduling Agreements and Outbound Deliveries created via "My Sales Order Schedule Lines - Due for Delivery" APP.
Customers are asking for the possibility of using an extensibility field called "Supplier Code" as a criteria to split Outbound Deliveries.
We know that, in order to split Outbound Deliveries, SAP uses standard fields such as "Unloading Point" or Shipping type" as a criteria to split Outbound Deliveries.
I was wondering if it is possible to create an extensibility field in the Outbound Delivery and use it as an splitting criteria.
I am working on the following example:
Scheduling agreement A / Customer A / Unloading point A / Shipping Type 01 -- JIT: 26.09.2019 -- 5 PC.
Scheduling agreement B / Customer A / Unloading point A / Shipping Type 01 -- JIT: 26.09.2019 -- 5 PC.
In this scenario, when we create an Outbound Delivery via "My Sales Order Schedule Lines - Due for Delivery" APP the system creates a single Outbound Delivery (80000000).
Our idea is to use an extensibility field to split outbound deliveries:
Desired Scenario:
Scheduling agreement A / Customer A / Unloading point A / Shipping Type 01 / Supplier Code A -- JIT: 26.09.2019 -- 5 PC.
Scheduling agreement B / Customer A / Unloading point A / Shipping Type 01 / Supplier Code B -- JIT: 26.09.2019 -- 5 PC.
We want to use the extensibility field to split the Outbound Delivery in two Outbound Deliveries (80000001 and 80000002).
Could you provide more info concercing this subject?
Thank you very much in advance for your comments!
Best Regards.
Hi Jorge,
The split criteria has to be on Scheduling agreement level and not on outbound delivery. Once the delivery is created, it is not possible to split them.
Currently, I don't see a business context available in Scheduling agreements for defining split criteria.
Thanks
Sai

Thanks Sai. I will drive this logic by making sure Shipping points are not assigned across multiple plants. This will allow for the standard split criteria based upon shipping point effectively prevent deliveries to combine across plants.

sai - it does not look like there is any configuration available to add splitting criteria for delivery creation. Is this correct? Do you know if there is an expectation to add this in a future release? I am asking, because I would like to add a split criteria based upon Plant on the sales order. Thank you, Tom

sai is it possible to do a manual delivery split in this scenario using the app split outbound delivery?

Hi Joanne,
Sorry, its not possible.
The app you are referring to 'Split Outbound Delivery' - is related to an asynchronous inbound service, which is used by a third-party decentralized warehouse management system to split an outbound delivery into two deliveries - the original delivery and a new delivery.
This message is sent from the third-party decentralized warehouse management system to SAP S/4HANA Cloud.
Thanks
Sai
joanne.lysy sai Hi Joanne, hi Sai,
sorry to say, but I'm afraid you mixed up things here:
- Joanne apparently asked about the WebGUI app 'Split Outbound Delivery' (fka transaction VLSP) where you can manually perform what's called a 'subsequent delivery split', i.e. split an existing outbound delivery into two or more deliveries.
- Sai apparently responded with an inbound SOAP API in mind which enables a 3rd party WMS send a message to S/4HANA Cloud that requests to split an existing outbound delivery into two or more deliveries.
Best regards,
Marc
joanne.lysy Hi Joanne - I'd also expect this to work for outbound deliveries related to a scheduling agreement. As far as I know, the 'Split Outbound Delivery' app doesn't really care about the preceding document, just allows to manage the outbound delivery / its items. Best might be to test it and raise any potential issues to SAP...
