Significance of PLANT field in Service organization

Dear Friends,

We have created a project, created line items in Billing TAB, and sales order is generated. We have given plant "XXXX" in service organisation. However, in Sales order system is picking another plant "YYYY" which is given in Customer master.

So, just wanted to know the significance of PLANT assignment to a service organisation..!

Hello Satya,

the plant assignment to a service organisation is relevant for taxes (tax departure country).

The tax determination in SD is calculated according to the country of the delivering plant in the service organisation (country of departure) and the country of the ship-to party in the sales order (tax destination country). The VAT registration number is always determined out of the country of the ship-to party.
