App "Create sales order - Fast entry" only allows materials with item category group NORM.

Hello

In the app "Create sales order - Fast entry" you can select only materials with item category grop NORM. If you set another material, at saving you get the error "Material xxxxxxxx is not of item category group NORM."

Is it an error or is this app designed in this way?

Hi Mario,

My understanding is that 'Fast Entry' app is used to create only draft orders. To make any changes to order information, you still have to access the 'Change Sales Order' App.

Further, the draft orders are not capable of functions such as availability check (as in the case of normal orders) or trigger an automatic PR (as in case of 3rd party). Hence, the materials with item category group 'Norm' are only allowed with this app.

Hi Mario,

The combination of Sales Document type and Item Category (i.e. the item category group in the material master) is not available. You should either try using a different item category or update the item cat group in the material master. It is not possible to maintain/add the customising so that this combination is made available to the system - there is no SSCUI or Expert Config option for this. However, you could consider creating a feature request.

Perhaps I didn't explain correctly. I know that "fast entry" app is only for creating drafts and after this you convert the drafts into sales order using "Manage sales orders beta version".

We don't need availability check or other functions. We only ask why it is not possible to create a draft for a material with other item cat. different from NORM.
